We Want to See
Your Favorite POW/MIA
Flag in Our Magazine and Web Site
Paying
tribute to those left behind and to those
who keep the hope alive.
Hoping
to keep alive the spirit of the POW/MIA
flag, we’re planning to feature
a different POW/MIA flag every issue
of the VietNow National Magazine and
here on our web site. (Click here to
see our current favorite.)
Think for a minute of a POW/MIA flag that
catches your eye and pulls at your heart
every time you see it. Where is it? Who
are the people who fly it? What’s
the story behind these people who fly this
black and white flag over their homes every
day? Maybe it’s a neighbor, or a
friend, or maybe it’s even the POW/MIA
flag flying over your own house right this
minute. We want to see it. And we want
to hear the story (long or short) about
the people who fly that flag and why they
do it.
We’re not looking for POW/MIA flags
that fly over post offices or government
buildings. No. We’re looking for
the grassroots people who fly the flag
proudly over their own homes.
Next time you’re out, stop and ask
if it’s OK for you to take a picture
and ask a few questions – enough
for you to write up a simple report for
our magazine. Please
don’t just take a picture of the
flag with only the sky as background. We’re
hoping for pictures that show the POW/MIA
flag flying in its natural setting with
people and/or the house in the picture
too – at least something to provide context
– not just the flag and an empty sky.
Remember – the writing and the photos
don’t have to be “fancy” or
perfect. Just get a picture that clearly
shows the POW/MIA flag with the people
and/or the house, and write a few notes
with the names and city of the people – and
send it to us. We’ll take it from
there.
